CUNY FIRST

CUNYfirst stands for Fully Integrated Resources and Services Tool and for CUNY it means a massive upgrade in how we’ll do things in the future. New CUNYfirst processes in Student Administration, Human Resources and Finance will change how we do everything from registering for classes to paying our bills. CUNYfirst applications will replace aging legacy systems like SIMS and CUPS and help us streamline and standardize many of the things we do at our colleges. CUNYfirst will be implemented in phases. Base processes for business, HR and academic structure will be created first, with enhancements and new modules being added in the coming years. The CUNYfirst Project is planned to last until early 2012 and is intended to establish CUNY processes well into the future.

For the first time, having a system that manages our students education and records connects to the systems that run our businesses and the systems that keep personnel records of our faculty and staff.

Our main systems for human resources and student administration are a generation old and have reached their capacity. We need to most modern educational and business systems to meet the high standards of CUNY, its students, faculty and staff, and all our customers.
