York College Presents nine-time GRAMMY Award –winning Jazz pianist Eddie Palmieri Live in Concert at the York College Performing Arts Center.

Robert Sims, the Gold Medal winner of the Enmark American Traditions Competition, has been hailed by critics for his "rich luxuriant tone", "energetic performances" and "convincing stage presence".


Swiss-born pianist Gilles Vonsattel, winner of the Walter W. Naumburg Foundation's 2002 International Piano Competition, made his Lincoln Center debut that year at Alice Tully Hall, and has appeared as soloist with the Utah Symphony, Naples Philharmonic, the Grand Rapids Symphony, the National Symphony of Ireland, and the Boston Pops.

JAMAICA, FAREWELL is a one woman play based on Debra Ehrhardt’s true story of her life growing up in Jamaica and about how she achieved her lifelong dream of coming to America by smuggling a million dollars in cash from Kingston, Jamaica, to Miami in exchange for a businessman’s help in getting a visa.

Vincent Herring is considered one of the premier saxophonists of his generation.

Charli Persip's nearly fourty year mission includes distinguished residencies with Dizzy Gillespie and Billy Eckstine, as well as gigs and record dates with Tadd Dameron, Frank Foster, Eric Dolphy, Roland Kirk, John Coltrane, among many others. Persip was the drummer on the legendary, "Eternal Triangle" recording, featuring Sonny Rollins and Sonny Stitt.

The HARLEM QUARTET, comprising First-Place Laureates of the Sphinx Competition, has a unique and challenging mission: to advance diversity in classical music while engaging young and new audiences through the discovery and presentation of varied repertoire, highlighting works by minority composers.

Voices of the Spirits in My Soul is a compilation by Obie award-winning actress Nora Cole of her family letters, photographs and stories passed on to her and tells the story of a daughter born in 1851 to a 15-year old Kentucky slave Katherine Tolbert, fathered by the white slave master.

Toshiko Akiyoshi’s unique contributions to the jazz world have evolved like falling dominoes through a series of events that started with a piano-loving little Japanese girl at the age six in China and brought her to prominence as an unparalleled pianist, composer and leader of the Toshiko Akiyoshi Jazz Orchestra.

Classical Jam (CJ) is a vibrant ensemble of flute, percussion, violin, viola and cello, creating a lively classical concert experience for today's contemporary audiences.

Keisha Williams has been singing gospel in front of audiences for 22 years and has been mesmerizing people with her soulful voice. 

The Silken Phoenix is a live music theatre work for actress and trio (cello, piano and percussion), based on the lives of three extraordinary Asian women poets: Ho Xuan Huong of Vietnam, Izumi Shikibu from Japan, and China’s Li Qingzhao.  All are strong personalities and vibrant writers, with direct and immediate appeal to audiences today.
