About the Counseling Center

At the York College Counseling Center, experienced counselors assist students in overcoming obstacles to academic achievement and promoting their personal and career development.

Counselors help students manage personal, social, and family concerns, maximize academic achievement, make decisions about their choice of career or major, and overcome academic difficulties.

Counseling may take the form of group or individual assistance, and makes full use of informational files on careers, graduate and professional schools, and community resources. When extended support is required, students are referred to specialized community agencies.

York College counselors also reach out to the entire campus, assisting the greater students body through seminars, theme programs, and workshops.
