Linda M. Grasso is a Professor of English at York College, The City University of New York who specializes in U.S. Literature and Culture, Women's Literature, and Women's and Gender Studies. She teaches courses in U.S. Literature, Women's Literature, African American Literature, Women's and Gender Studies, American Studies, and Writing.

Professor Grasso's book Equal Under the Sky: Georgia O'Keeffe and Twentieth-Century Feminism (University of New Mexico Press) explores how Georgia O'Keeffe and feminism are linked in scholarship, popular culture, and the public imagination. Using paintings, photographs, correspondence, newspaper articles, fan letters, autobiography, and documents culled from numerous archives, Professor Grasso examines O'Keeffe's art, life, writing, and reputation by foregrounding feminist questions, employing feminist reading practices, and situating O'Keeffe in U.S. feminist history.

Professor Grasso holds faculty appointments in the M.A. Program in Liberal Studies, the M.A. Program in Women's and Gender Studies, and the Biography and Memoir Program at The Graduate Center, The City University of New York. She is currently on the steering committee of the Women Writing Women's Lives seminar, a feminist group of women biographers and memoirists. She has chaired the York College English Department, co-chaired the Columbia University Seminar, Women and Society, and served on the editorial board of Legacy: A Journal of American Women Writers.

In addition to publishing essays on U.S. women writers and culture, Professor Grasso is the author of The Artistry of Anger: Black and White Women's Literature in America, 1820-1860 (University of North Carolina Press), a finalist for the MLA first book prize.
