Project for MSTM 6032.001

All students registered for 6032.001 should prepare a project. In a general way the goal of this project should be:

a. Design a geometry lesson at an appropriate level for grades 7-16 (with permission you can also do something at a lower grade level than this). If you develop an activity for this lesson be sure that it is accompanied by an explanation of the geometry "behind" the lesson. In any case the mathematics behind the lesson should be discussed in detail.

b. Historical essay about some aspect of geometry which includes a significant amount of exposition about geometry in addition to the historical context.

c. Biographical essay about some contributor to geometry which includes a significant amount of exposition about geometry in addition to the biographical context.

d. A project you suggest with some geometrical theme.

e. Use some homework problem as an inspiraton for a project.

Steps

1. Prepare a one paragraph description of your proposed project. Due by: March 31 (email submission fine)

2. Completed project due: (Ideally, May 5, 2008) Paper copy, please. There is no specific length length but it should show "substance."
