You have the choice of writing the following:

a. A biographical essay about a contributor to some aspect of graph theory, convexity, geometry, the theory of polyhedra, or discrete geometry.

b. An account of a newspaper or magazine article which deals explicitly or implicitly with an application of geometry.

c. An essay surveying the history of the classical Non-Euclidean geometries (i.e. Bolyai-Lobachevsky (hyperbolic geometry) or Riemannian geometry (projective geometry)).

Length: Minimum 1000 words; no maximum.

Due Date:

by April 3, 2006 (Monday)

Notes:

a. Regard this as a first draft and we will work together towards improving the first draft.

b. Do not fail to attend on April 3 without having already handed the paper in or contacting me about its status. I would rather have it late than that you cut class to avoid turning it in.
