The Admissions office encourages applications from international students who wish to study at York College.
Students Educated Abroad
As the application process is lengthy and complex, requiring substantial documentation, international students are strongly encouraged apply well in advance of the semester that they intend to attend school.
Suggested dates for application submission:
For the Fall semester, apply by March 1
For the Spring semester, apply by October 1

Students are encouraged to contact the York College International Admissions Counselor early in the application process for instructions and proper guidance. The International Admissions Counselor can be reached by telephone at (718) 262-2169.
Application Instructions
Freshman and Transfer students must submit applications appropriate to their status. Applications can be submitted online at www.cuny.edu/apply. If you would prefer to obtain a paper application, please forward your request to:

The following materials must be submitted with the appropriate application:
- Official transcripts from each institution attended (translated into English)
- Freshman Applicants: $65 application fee
Transfer Applicants: $70 application fee - Freshman applicants must submit SAT or ACT scores
- TOEFL scores are also required of all applicants who are not from English-speaking countries.
TOEFL Requirement
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is a proficiency examination required of all applicants who are on temporary visas and whose native language is not English. York College requires a TOEFL score of 500. Applicants should request that official scores be sent to the University Application Processing Center. Completed Application
Your completed application and accompanying documents should be returned to the University Application Processing Center (UAPC). Your eligibility for admission to York College will be determined by UAPC. This decision will be communicated to you by mail. It is not unusual for the entire process to take up to 12 weeks for completion.
