Dr. Werber’s early research focused on cardiac rehabilitation and later shifted towards studying the effects of exercise training to promote physical activity behavior and psychological well-being among diverse urban college students. Dr. Werber is the director of the Movement Science Major, the first program at CUNY to obtain accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) through the Committee on Accreditation for the Exercise Sciences (CoAES). Additionally, she serves as a Site Visitor for CoAES. Dr. Werber was the President of the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Greater New York Regional Chapter in 2021.
