Jenny Hartmann, LMSW, earned a PhD in Social Work from Columbia University in 2023 and a Master of Science in Social Administration (MSW) from Case Western Reserve University in 2012. Dr. Hartmann's research interests include the intersections of intimate partner violence and child- and family-serving systems in the U.S. and globally. Her dissertation addressed these complex concerns among Black women in U.S. community supervision programs and among Syrian refugee women in Jordan. Dr. Hartmann's teaching experience and interests include HBSE, trauma and its impacts, and international social work. She has worked in social work project management, direct practice, and organizational change. Her background includes work with refugees, child welfare and IPV agencies, and the SBIRT model. Dr. Hartmann worked as a research assistant with the Social Intervention Group at Columbia. She has collaborated with researchers and stakeholders in eight countries around the world.
