Spanish and literature professor at York College, City University of New York. She has participated in conferences, colloquia, and poetry festivals in Latin America and Spain. She has published the poetry books Multiplicada en mí, Palabras al borde de mis labios, En la batalla, Ruta 51C, Sobre luciérnagas, Sin ambages/To the Point, Clementina (Italian/Spanish bilingual version), Donde crecen amapolas, El agudo blandir al pronunciarte, and the short story book Aquí no hay gatos. She is the author of the book Nomadismo y alteridad. Las otras historias de la guerra, and co-author of the testimonial book Tomamos la palabra: mujeres en la guerra civil de El Salvador (1980-1992). In addition, her poems and stories have been published in anthologies, literary magazines in Latin America, the USA, and Spain, and have been translated into English, Portuguese, French, and Italian. In 2021, she received the Feliks Gross Award from the City University of New York for her work as a teacher and researcher, and was recognized by the Chifurnia Foundation as the Poet of the Year 2023 in El Salvador. In 2020, she began an intense cultural work through EntreTmas, a digital space where she interviews and promotes Latin American and Spanish women writers residing in the United States, Latin America, and Spain. She is also the director of the semi-annual digital literature magazine EntreTmas Revista Digital and curator, along with Margarita Drago, of Palabra-Imagen-Escena, an artistic space created for the dissemination of the creations of poets, storytellers, playwrights, and visual artists who produce their work in Spanish in NY.
