York College Participates in CUNYwide Pre-law Event
Alumni attorneys across CUNY recently gathered at BMCC to share their advice with current students and agreed to meet with students in the future as mentors. The event was organized by all of the prelaw advisers across CUNY.
"It was really exciting to see (and hear!) CUNY alumni now as judges, public defenders, big law white shoe lawyers, in-house counsel, law clerks, etc., talking about their careers and how students could make their own dreams in the law happen," said York Pre-law advisor at York, Dr. Robin Harper. "Our own York College alumna, Leandra Johnson, spoke about her trajectory. It was inspiring!"
Dr. Harper said she was quite proud of York alumna, Leandra Johnson meeting with and providing some guidance to current York College law school applicant, Isaac Small. The students received books about the law and There was also a raffle, and Princeton Review donated an LSAC course and private guidance meetings for the students. Kudos to the department!
