Two York College Programs Rank Impressively on National Survey

The York College Master’s in Clinical Trial Management has ranked 11 in a survey of 3,000 such programs.

What makes the recognition all the more notable is that it’s one of York’s newest Master’s programs, having received approved in 2017. Concurrently, the bachelor’s in Health Science is ranked 28th by the same organization, and the program director explains why it is winning recognition.

“Our faculty team envisions an interdisciplinary curriculum that prepares students for diverse career paths in healthcare while fostering critical thinking and innovation,” says Dr. Shawn Williams, program coordinator for the BS Health Science. “We are dedicated to addressing health disparities in urban populations and instilling our students with a sense of community responsibility.”

Dr. Williams added “with a focus on practical application and research, we aim to equip graduates for immediate roles in the healthcare field and advanced studies. Ultimately, we seek to prepare students for today’s healthcare system and for the future they will help shape.”

As for Professor Alexander Birk, he too is pleased that his program, MS Clinical Trial Management, has scored a spot on the list in the top 20 (11th). “This speaks volumes about our experienced faculty, who provide personalized guidance as well as enrich the student learning experience through real-world case studies, hands-on projects, and internships in the major healthcare systems throughout New York,” said Dr. Birk. “This broad-spectrum educational approach unlocks the students' potentials, allowing for 98.4% graduation rate and nearly 100% employment in clinical trials/research within a few months after graduation.”

Birk says the program mirrors York College's commitment to fostering diversity and inclusivity, which ensures a rich learning environment. “Clinical Trial Management MS Program demonstrates that CUNY York College graduates are equipped with the technical knowledge and the leadership skills necessary to excel in various roles within the industry and academia to make a meaningful impact on national healthcare growth and development…” he says.
