York College is proud to announce that its January 2025 graduates in the Physician Assistant (PA) program achieved a 100 percent first-time pass rate on their national board exam (PANCE). The PANCE is a rigorous assessment that evaluates the clinical knowledge, clinical reasoning, and other medical skills and professional behaviors deemed necessary for entry-level practice as a PA.

"Our program is proud to achieve a 100 percent pass rate twice in the past four years. This success demonstrates the hard work and dedication of everyone involved, including the students (now graduates), faculty and staff, adjunct faculty members, preceptors, site evaluators, admission personnel, guest lecturers, clinical affiliations, institutional support and everyone else who contributed in some way," said Dr. Harry Persaud, Director of York College's Physician Assistant Program and Professor in the Department of Health Professions.

York College's PA program is a comprehensive 28-month master's degree program that combines classroom instruction and extensive clinical rotations. This prepares the graduates to confidently practice medicine under the supervision of a physician. After graduation, PAs must pass the PANCE, administered by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
