York College Visits John Adams High School to Celebrate Admitted Students

A dedicated contingent from York College recently visited John Adams High School to celebrate and engage with 100+ Fall 2025 admitted students. The event brings together students, admissions, academic advisors, and distinguished York College representatives to highlight the opportunities awaiting these future Cardinals.

Leading the presentation were Nicholas Jones, Executive Director of Enrollment Management and a proud John Adams graduate from the Class of 1998, and Dr. Rajendra Persaud of Admissions, who graduated from John Adams in 1997. Both alumni shared personal stories about their educational journeys while emphasizing how York College's affordability, diversity, and commitment to social mobility make it a great choice for students seeking to educate, enrich, and elevate their futures.

Accompanying Jones and Persaud were Sheridan Bisram and Johnathan Hoyte from Academic Advisement, who engaged with students to discuss course selection, degree pathways, and the many support services available at York College. Isaac Augustin, a representative from the Center for Students with Disabilities and a current York College student, shared his experiences navigating college life, reinforcing the institution's commitment to inclusivity and student success.

During the visit, admitted students had the unique opportunity to receive their official acceptance letters in person, making the moment even more special.

This visit celebrated the accomplishments of the admitted students but also reinforced the strong ties between York College and John Adams High School. The connection between the two institutions continues to pave the way for students to achieve academic excellence and career success. As the newly admitted students embark on this next chapter, York College remains committed to guiding them every step of the way.
