And we are pleased that we are prepared to help them fulfill their academic challenges since we have increased our faculty ranks by an unprecedented twenty-five percent. These outstanding new members of our faculty will be work- ing hard with our students to keep them—and York "onthemove."

Berenecea Johnson Eanes appointed president of Cal State LA
The California State University (CSU) Board of Trustees has appointed Dr. Berenecea Johnson Eanes to serve as president of California State University, Los Angeles. Eanes currently serves as president of York College, City University of New York.

“One of the earliest campus leadership decisions I made as Chancellor was appointing Dr. Berenecea Johnson Eanes president of York College, a role in which she served on an interim basis for the 2019-2020 academic year before her permanent appointment a year later.

I am pleased to welcome Eduardo Rios to York as Vice President for Finance and Administration/Chief Financial Officer. He is a seasoned administrator who has deep experience in CUNY managing administration and facility matters.
Leadership Transition
I write with a heavy heart but with the optimism that is at the core of my belief in the strength and power of York College. As of December 21, I will leave York College to serve as President of California State University, Los Angeles beginning on January 8, 2024. This decision was made with thoughtful reflection, faith and with a deep commitment to continuing to work on behalf of educational equity.
