'Plagiarism' Across the Curriculum: Let's Teach our Way out of this Mess
Zoom

The Teaching for Integrity series is an initiative of the academic integrity program to foster a college-wide discussion of best practices in teaching and learning with integrity.
Part of the Teaching for Integrity series, this is a presentation and facilitated discussion for faculty from all departments led by Jonathan Hall, Professor and Chair of English at CUNY York College. Professor Hall explores reasons why students may not write in their own voice and appropriately cite sources. He proposes seeing plagiarism as a pedagogical--rather than only an ethical--issue, with corresponding recommendations for our teaching and assignment design. Discussion participants will be encouraged to share their own experiences and recommendations. This session is co-sponsored by the Writing Across the Curriculum program.
