Hello York Community,

If you have worked in public service (federal, state, local, tribal government or a non-profit organization) for 10 years or more (even if not consecutively), you may be eligible to have all your student debt canceled.  Now, for a limited time, it is easier than ever to receive that forgiveness, or get credit toward forgiveness, if you have not yet served 10 years. Until Oct. 31, 2022, federal student loan borrowers can get credit for payments that previously didn’t qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) or Temporary Expanded Public Service Loan Forgiveness (TEPSLF). Please review Public Service Loan Forgiveness PowerPoint for more information on how you can take advantage of this program.

The York HR Office will complete the Loan Forgiveness form certifying full-time and part-time employment on behalf of employees. To receive a form confirming York College employment, please:

• Email: humanresources@york.cuny.edu requesting a completed PSLF form
• Please provide us with your name, start date, and title, whether you are full-time, part-time or have worked a combination of full-time and part-time in different roles
• Please let us know if you wish for the form(s) to be emailed to you or if you prefer to pick them up in our office
