Chancellor's Invitation to virtual forum re York presidential search

Dear York College Community,

I write to follow up on my letter from November 29. We will soon launch a national search for the next permanent president of York College. CUNY has partnered with the firm Isaacson Miller for this search.

As I shared in my letter, the search committee will be established in accordance with the CUNY Presidential Search Guidelines. The York Faculty Caucus has recommended three members to serve on the committee.

As a first step, I want to invite you to a virtual open forum where I will answer questions you may have regarding the search process. The forum is Monday, March 25, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Please RSVP and pre-submit your questions by noon on Thursday, March 21. Participants will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis, and will receive the link to watch the live forum after the RSVP deadline.

The York College community will have numerous opportunities to participate in the process beyond the forum. We invite members of the community to complete this important survey, which will be open until April 30 and managed by Isaacson Miller.

Furthermore, once the chair of the search committee has been appointed, that Trustee, along with representatives from Isaacson Miller and staff members from the executive search office, will hold a series of meetings with key stakeholders including representatives of the York faculty, students, administrators, department chairs, governance leaders and friends of the college, which will include alumni and foundation board members.

Kindly note that Dana Trimboli, chief of staff, and Nyisha Howell, director of strategic partnerships and foundation relations, have agreed to serve as the campus-based search liaisons and will be working closely with my team throughout this process.

I’m very much looking forward to addressing your questions. Together, we will write the next exciting chapter for York College.

Sincerely,

Félix V. Matos Rodríguez, Ph.D.
Chancellor
