Bachelor of Science (BS) Social Work Program Practicum

Admission to Social Work Practicum

Social Work Practicum comprises SCWK 410 and SCWK 492. Students must apply for admission to Social Work Practicum. Admission to Social Work Practicum is a prerequisite for SCWK 410 and successful completion of SCWK 410 is a prerequisite for SCWK 492. The Program admits applicants each semester. 

Criteria for Admission to Social Work Practicum

  • Admission to the Social Work Program
  • Cumulative GPA of 2.70 or higher
  • Grade of "C" or higher in all social work courses
  • 94 or more credits completed by the end of the semester in which the student applies
  • Completion of all courses in the sequence through SCWK 370; Writing 303
  • Two diversity courses from the approved list (a third diversity course is required prior to graduation)
  • Completed application form
