Prerequisites for Transfer
York OT Admission Prerequisites for the Transfer Student:
- 1 Semester of Statistics (3 credits) Math 111 or Psy 226 must be taken within the past 10 years
- 2 Semesters of General Biology with labs (6-10 credits) Bio 201 and Bio 202Anatomy & Physiology I and II may be substituted (Bio 234 and Bio 235)Must be taken within the past 10 years
- 1 Semester of General Chemistry with a Lab (3-5 credits) Chem 106 and Chem 107 ORChem 108 and Chem 109Must be taken within the past 10 years
- 1 Semester of General Physics (3-4 credits) Phys 140 or Phys 115 and 113 Must be taken within the past 10 years
- 1 Semester of General/Introduction Psychology (3 credits) Psy 102
- 1 Semester of Abnormal/Psychopathology Psychology (3 credits) Psy 238
- 1-2 Semesters of Human Development/Lifespan Development Psychology* (3-6 credits) Psy 214 OR Psy 215 and Psy 216*If presented as Development I and II both sequences must be taken
- 1 Semester of Introduction to Sociology (3 credits) Soc 101
- In addition, the applicant must demonstrate completion of: A minimum of 60 college credits ( college credits must meet requirements for fulfillment of General Education requirements for a Bachelor’s Degree) and an application for matriculated student status at York CollegeAt least 50 hours of volunteer work in an Occupational Therapy setting or completion of Covid -19 alternative applicationA minimum overall GPA of 2.9All college and OT specific prerequisite course requirements with a minimum grade of CCompletion of a Lower Division writing course that meets requirements for fulfillment of a Bachelor’s degree
Prerequisite Course Equivalent:
You are not required to complete the courses listed above if you:
possess a bachelor’s degree, completed an occupational therapy assistant program, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0
