Bridge Fund Policies
The Office of Research and Sponsored Programs has established an Emergency Research Bridge Fund (ERBF) for principal investigators in transition of their research funding
The goal of the Emergency Research Bridge Fund (ERBF) is to support ongoing research projects and to enable YC faculty, staff, and all other YC-associated researchers to continue their research activities and submit competitive grant applications. The fund is administered by us at the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP).
The Application to the ERBF can be submitted by faculty principal investigators (PIs) with active research grants that expire or will expire within three months of the date of the application. Described below are the general requirements for the ERBF:
- Applications to the EBRF are only for research supplies.
- Please note: No reassigned time, travel salary, or summer salary support will be provided through the ERBF
- The requested funds cannot exceed $5,000
- All PIs must submit an itemized budget along with a budget justification related to their initiatives.
- The ERBF form must include the title of the current research project, a brief description, the date and timeline of the competitive grant application, the title/name of the granting agency, and the amount being requested.
